The Story

Riley has become interested in the disappearance of Wendy Lancaster, a neighborhood girl her age. She begins to document her investigation and has roped her best friend Landon into helping track Wendy down. She learns that her last known location was a nearby bookstore that is closed down and apparently falling apart at the seams. The two go to investigate the bookstore, but instead of finding more clues to send them on to the next part of their investigation, they become trapped in a pocket of liminal space inside the bookstore. And they aren’t the only thing trapped there…

Meet The Characters

Riley Anderson

Riley is a high schooler, who is fascinated with mysteries of any kind and more recently, true crime. She is headstrong and can sometimes get tunnel vision, focusing too much on one thing rather than seeing the big picture. However, she is very smart and a great puzzle-solver. She also happens to be a CODA (child of a deaf adult), which means her first language is sign language, which she is teaching Landon.

Landon Johnson

Landon is Riley’s best friend. He’s goofy and helps lighten Riley’s serious moods, but he also helps her to see past her tunnel vision. His funny personality hides a strong and assertive character with the street smarts to Riley’s book smarts. He tends to think out of the box, which allows him to come up with unique solutions to problems.

The Figure

The Figure has been trapped in the liminal space within the bookstore for two years. Its mind is gone, and so is its sight. But its desire to escape is ever-present.
